You’ve got a terrific image: unlucky in love, powerful with an ax, a man made completely out of tin. Now run with it. Oakstreet Bootmakers, The son of a cobbler, Oak Street Bootmakers founder and designer George Vlagos apprenticed at his father’s shop where he learned the craft of shoemaking from an early age. Today, George seeks to preserve the heritage of fine shoemaking through thoughtfully designed and attentively crafted shoes. Their web presence reflects both their vintage orientation, high level of craftmanship, and a no-nonsense minimalist approach to design. Simple clean product shots, concise descriptions and navigation queues easily guide the visitor around this skillfully imagined site. Kudos for a great site and another solid example of the new American manufacturing phenomenon. Might be time to reboot…
