Living with style

Kellyco@work | MICHAEL S. SMITH: ELEMENTS OF STYLE (book design). Designed best-selling publication by acclaimed interior design Michael Smith. Book beautifully captures the essential building blocks of good interior design. Pairing lush interiors with dynamic insider advice, Smith (Michelle Obama’s designer for the White House private quarters) covers in depth the most common decorating decisions including working with color, selecting the right paint, choosing window treatments and floor coverings, creating a luxurious bed, and building a furniture collection over time. Illustrated with stunning color photography, including a dozen homes presented in depth to demonstrate how rooms work alone and together, the book also includes practical sidebars on learning how to buy antiques and attend auctions, how to ready a home for sale and how to create a house that can evolve over time. Worked with both client and publisher on photo editing, classic layout style and printing specifications. Hardcover book, 218 pages. Published by Rizzoli International.

The art of the printed piece

Gotta love Miuccia Prada and what she achieves year after year. She has always been one of the driving forces that the fashion industry (and the design world) looks to for both intellectual stimulation and an indication of what design trends can be adopted for commerce. From a marketing point-of-view, we always applaud the brand’s commitment to creativity in both advertising, promotion and supporting print collateral. This is one (Fall/Winter 2010) of our favorite lookbooks (usually a bound collection of runway shots for most labels). Part of the Real Fantasies series, where fantasy meets Prada’s vision of a stylized reality. Illustrations by Alexander Reichert and Fausto Fantinuoli with photography by Phillip Meech. Love every darn amazing page…
