Think young love & social media... Samsung | “Say Hey Hello” Samsung going big with a musical boy meets girl short film. Set at UCLA, it follows a head-over-heels college student across the campus and into late-night frat houses in pursuit of his dream girl – a quest helped along by the young man’s ever-present Galaxy S4. At almost five minutes, with music by the Portland hip hop group, The Chicharones, and a more than cute cast, no surprise this is a huge summer hit on YouTube (totally shareable). Way cute, for sure, but the squeekly clean college thing seems a little too Glee or Disney High School Musical. Certainly doesn’t approach the cool factor like most of the other leading phone manufacturer’s advertising endeavors. Agency, Leo Burnett. Director, Joseph Kahn via HSI Productions. Admittedly, a very nice, engaging spot, but have to ask yourself what is Samsung trying to be when they grow up?
