Digital with a touch of Hollywood
Kellyco@work | TCM SUMMER UNDER THE STARS (digital). Stars are all aligned with the engaging site for TCM’s annual event. Website design featured one iconic star after another (full month/31 days of them), with each getting a custom type treatment, biographical content and profiles of all key featured films. Demonstrates what is possible with both movement and interactivity in this post-Flash world. Programmed in HTML5 and incorporating parallax scrolling with custom JavaScript for the tablet version, the site delivers on presenting fairly regimented content (from the client’s master content management system) in a very engaging, stylish environment. Modernized identity was implemented with opening of new Manhattan location featuring both an expanded inventory of stylish business attire and contemporary casual labels. Identity utilized across signage, packaging and tag systems.

Kellyco@work | BRAVO (concept development, promotion, graphic design, copywriting). Developed a series of promotional and sales support materials for the cable channel. Efforts included event promotion, special programming initiatives and the channel’s media kit. Provided copwriting/copyediting as needed.

Honoring the iconic filmmaker
Kellyco@work | KUROSAWA (book design). Designed lavishly produced and profusely illustrated volume on film director, Akira Kurosawa, timed for the centennial of his birth, written by Peter Cowie with forward by Martin Scorsese. This is the first illustrated book to pay tribute to his unmistakable style—with more than two hundred images, many never before published. Features annotated script pages, sketches, and storyboards that reveal the meticulous craft behind the celebrated director’s genius. The author examines how Kurosawa took the samurai genre to its apogee in such films as Yojimbo and Seven Samurai; his literary influences in such films as Throne of Blood (Macbeth) and Ran (King Lear); and in his take on our relationship to the modern world in such films as High and Low and Dreams.
