Campaign promoted both the strength of the revitalized neighborhood, ease of access to major transportation and extraordinary value of the project’s homes. Media plan included both local print and web. An extensive search marketing campaign was the centerpiece of web marketing strategy.

Site SPOTTED. Oakstreet Bootmakers, The son of a cobbler, Oak Street Bootmakers founder and designer George Vlagos apprenticed at his father’s shop where he learned the craft of shoemaking from an early age. Today, George seeks to preserve the heritage of fine shoemaking through thoughtfully designed and attentively crafted shoes. Their web presence reflects both their vintage orientation, high level of craftmanship, and a no-nonsense minimalist approach to design. Simple clean product shots, concise descriptions and navigation queues easily guide the visitor around this skillfully imagined site. Kudos for a great site and another solid example of the new American manufacturing phenomenon. Might be time to reboot…

Digital with a touch of Hollywood

Kellyco@work | TCM SUMMER UNDER THE STARS (digital). Stars are all aligned with the engaging site for TCM’s annual event. Website design featured one iconic star after another (full month/31 days of them), with each getting a custom type treatment, biographical content and profiles of all key featured films. Demonstrates what is possible with both movement and interactivity in this post-Flash world. Programmed in HTML5 and incorporating parallax scrolling with custom JavaScript for the tablet version, the site delivers on presenting fairly regimented content (from the client’s master content management system) in a very engaging, stylish environment. Promoting passion

American Express looks to appeal to millennials by using YouTube and other social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr) as platforms where young dreamers can submit their projects in order to win a two-thousand dollar grant. The company has recruited musician and Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein to star in the TV spots. A clear move to attract the younger, dare we say hipper cardholder. The project is in the same vein of Kickstarter, but here the donor is Amex with 10 projects getting funded. Kudos for a smart campaign from the financial services giant. Client and agency certainly get more engaging stylish content for marketing efforts. Just gotta wonder how this resonates with the target audience. Larger scale funding might have helped a bit here so it would more mutually beneficial or sincere. Just saying…
