Smart, stylish and distinctively Bass
Saul Bass was the master of the title sequence and movie poster, working on some of the most remembered iconic films in the history of Hollywood. His signature graphic style has been acknowledged to have brought Hollywood to a new modern sensibility. Pure genius…
Face it… Just starting to make their way around town and online, HBO has released 12 captivating new posters of the familiar “Game of Thrones” cast members, half bathed in darkness. The imposing new promotional images launch outdoor (we like the strategic use of long outdoor spaces to show all 12 posters) and print ad campaigns next week ahead of the “Game of Thrones” Season 3 premiere on March 31. They follow the release of the first full length trailer and an online ad campaign running on the New York Times and several entertainment sites. With success obviously comes larger promotional budgets. Thank the almighty king(s) for that…
Food for thought… Food Bank for New York City turns 30. There are 2.9 million New Yorkers who experience difficulty affording food — an astounding number and one that continues to increase as the donated food supply drops to an all-time low and food costs skyrocket. Food Bank For New York City recognizes 30 years as the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs. As one of the country’s largest food banks, our mission is to end hunger in New York City by organizing food, information and support for community survival and dignity. The Food Bank procures and distributes food to a network of more than 1,000 community-based member programs citywide, helping to provide 400,000 free meals a day for New Yorkers in need. Poignant and impactful video for their 30-year anniversary by photographer Nigel Parry, chock-full of chefs and other New York personalities. Check it out and think about a donation or volunteering for a invaluable organization…
Geek or Nerd… Somehow we ran into Sprinkles & Booze by lifestyle blogger, fiercely real model, dancer, and artist (!?!), Latanya Rene. Enthusiastic to share beauty, laughter, and love, she spreads her ideas by written word, video, dance, design, and photography. Being rather sassy and sarcastic, she has a humorous yet lovable perspective on the world. She loves traveling, taking endless photos, and big hair. She hopes to someday have a giant greenhouse full of hot pink zebra striped roses. She is terrified of orcs, Jaws, and clowns. She is in love with glitter, horror films, and eyeliner. She believes in ghosts, is an anglophile, and an explorer. Latanya is always able to find the glitter and sparkle in daily life. She believes in chasing dreams and unicorns. She never takes life too seriously and is always creating her own reality. Blog on Latanya, and love the animated gif…
