In a new show opening this week at Marian Goodman Gallery (New York), Thomas Struth’s subject is the human imagination, and the “footprints of the brain” that result from ambition, fantasy, and progress. In it, high-tech images—a da Vinci surgical machine, mid-operation—piquantly share space with unsettling and gently comic panoramas of Disneyland.
