Finding your way
Google’s latest effort to show the human side of their apps comes in the form of this short film about Saroo Brierley, a man who was separated from his mother at age 5 and used the Google Map app to find her 26 years later. Brierley wrote a book, The Long Way Home, that tells the longer version of his story. The google film does a good job showing how their maps played a pivotal role in Brierley’s search. The film could have done a better job at showing the more traumatic aspects of Brierley’s life, namely the emotional impact of the separation from his family and the death of his brother, but the story is still an incredible one.
